This is a Japanese-made textile with fringes on both ends, featuring the ancient Nishijin-ori brocade, Enmon Byakko Suzaku Nishiki, from Horyu-ji Temple, which was stored at my parents' home. It does not come with a box, and while there are some folding creases, there are no stains or fraying, so it appears to be unused.
